Michael H. Crosby has presented this material throughout the world. Many professionals have found that the Choosing Compassion program offers a matrix for those involved in anger management, crisis counseling, conflict resolution, circles of trust, non-violent communication, and peace studies. At the same time it shows how the material can fit into a fuller context leading to social transformation.

Following is a synopsis of the six 20 minute videos:

Segment 1 - All relationships in life are grounded in positive dynamics of care or negative dynamics of control.

Segment 2 - Negative ways of relating, based in control, lead to abuse, conflicts and various forms of violence and, if unchecked can result in breaks of one kind or another (divorce, walk-outs, strikes, wars) as well as to hate and, ultimately, to indifference or lack of care.

Segment 3 - Conflicts based on misunderstanding can be recognized and resolved; reconciliation based on repentance and forgiveness can empower all involved.

Segment 4 - The challenge and necessity to change from negative ways of relating to positive ways can only come when we decide it is in our interest to do so whether we are individuals, groups or organizations.

Segment 5 - Creating circles of trust wherein people are free from the negative dynamics, leading to healthy relationships and better lives through collaboration.

Segment 6 - The power of non-violence and peace are the basis for deepening love and widening our circles of compassion.

The segments above are each accompanied by a study guide. These provide dynamic exercises and discussion points for a 75 minute lesson (which includes viewing the 20 minute DVD) or for a 90 minute lesson (also including the viewing of the 20 minute DVD).
